Farsi Screen Saver for Windows(c) 3.x --------------------------------------- This program (as far as I know) is the first Farsi Screen Saver for MS-Windows. It brings up Farsi proverbs from a file (amcal.ffw) and shows them on your PC's screen. All the proverbs used in this program are coming from the 4 volume book of "Amca-o-Hekam" which is one of many great works of Mr. Ali-Akbar Dehkhoda. This program comes with more than 650 proverbs, that I personally choosed from that book. I will try to put more and more of these wonderful proverbs in my program, in a near feature. Requirement: ------------ - An IBM(R) compatible personal computer. - MS-DOS(R) ver. 5.0 or above. - MS-Windows(C) 3.1 or WfW(C)3.11 (I am not sure if this program works under NT(C) or Win95) with more than 128kByte of free memory. - About 300k Bytes of free hard disk space. - PKUNZIP(C) ver 2.04G (you can find it on many BBS's around the world) Files: ------ REAME.TXT This file. INSTALL.TXT Information on how to install this program in Swedish and English. AMCAL.FFW The proverb file. FARSISCR.INI Initiation file for the screen saver. FARSISCR3.SCR Screen Saver program. FARSI_1.TTF A Farsi True Type font for MS-Windows. FARSISCR.HLP Help file for this program (will be available later). FARSISCR.ARA An experimental version of this screensaver. With allmost all information in Farsi. How does it work? ----------------- This screen saver works like the "Marquee" which comes with Windows 3.x, the only difference is that FSCRSAV3 reads its data randomly from a file (AMCAL.FFW) and shows them on the screen by movings them slowly from right to left. Size, colour, speed and position of text can be changed. Colour and position of the proverbs can be set to "Random" and then it will show the proverbs in different colours and on different parts of your screen. How much does it cost? ---------------------- I wrote this program for myself, because I love Farsi proverbs and they always remind me of my grand mother who used to tell us stories about the meaning and origin of these proverbs. Sometimes ago when I started my Farsi For Windows project, I thought it would be a good idea to make a program that shows Farsi proverbs on the computer screen. It was first in the beginning of 1994 when my Farsi editor became stable and I could save my file without causing the system to crash, then I started to write this program. I am trying to increase the amount of provers in this program all the time. There are still som functions which are not implemented yet, which I try to when I have some "free" time from my other projects. Since I did not wrote this program to earn some money, I do not want people to pay for it. So it is free! The only thing I ask you for, is to let me know whether you like this program or not. By sending me a letter, a postcard with a picture of the town you live in, or if you have access to E-mail, by writing a few lines to give me your opinion about the program. That would be the best payment for my job. This means that you can install it on how many computers you want, copy it and send it to your friends or put it on a BBS. There are some restrictions that you must follow: - This program is copyright of SE&SE and should not be modified, or be included in any commercial product. No part of this program should be used in other product, without the written permission of SE&SE. - All the files in this archive must be in the copy, specially this file and the README.WRI. - You should not charge people for this program, you should only charge people for the cost of the media and your work, but not more than 5 US$ or 35 Skr - You can use FARSI_1.TTF (the truetype) font for your personal use, you can include it in any publicdomain or freeware program. The only restriction is to send information about the origin of that file, with your program. - You use this program at your own risk, I do not guarantee it's functionality. SE&SE is not responsible for any damage on your computer that directly or indirectly caused by using this program. If you think this program may cause any damage to your computer, then my advice to you is : DO NOT USE IT!
